• Provide strategic leadership and vision to the creation of an inclusive and equitable organizational culture across all departments and functions at the City of Brampton serving a population of approximately 500,00 that is 60% visible minority speaking more than 70 languages.• Share expertise, insights and consultative supports with staff and management and act as the “face” of inclusion throughout the organization.• Lead multi-functional teams in developing and successfully implementing the City’s Multilingual Service and Inclusive Customer Service Policies and Programs.• Coach managers and policy-makers to build a workforce reflective of the community.• Heighten staff awareness of historical and present oppressions within the organizational context.• Consult with senior leaders to ensure municipal services and programs are equitable and reflective of community wants and needs.• Leverage legislated requirements to achieve organizational change, for example, by including elements of cultural and language competency in mandated accessibility training sessions.• Implement practical programs that respond to the needs of newcomers to Canada in consultation with the community such as city tours and emergency services introduction sessions.• Build partnerships, collaborations and consultative relationships between internal and external allies and stakeholders including a quarterly information sharing and networking seminars.• Develop e-Learning and classroom-based training programs for thousands of staff including “Inclusive Customer Service” and “Communicating Effectively Across Language and Culture”.
