Before my tenure, listings editing was handled by the copy desk; with my promotion, I handled all of that, some 30,000 words each week. Highlights: I systemized the editing process, setting internal deadlines for better production management; managed print redesign for listings; coordinated with tech staff on new database interface and mobile app; assigned articles; wrote critical and news capsules across most all disciplines; participated in employee evaluations and the hiring of freelance writers; and otherwise worked with the Weekend management team and Culture department leadership. * Copy editor for Culture and, briefly, Op-Ed, National, and Sports desks. In Culture I handled breaking news and reviews for the daily Arts section and long-form articles for the Sunday Arts & Leisure section (including those of guest writers, such as John Lithgow and David Mamet).
