-- As an Office Assistant in the University of Wisconsin-Madison's College of Letters and Science Academic Advising Service Office, I welcome students coming in for advising appointments, keep the office organized and help professional advisors with various tasks and events. -- I also help to raise awareness among students of the resources that the advising office has to offer by being responsible for the office's social media presence on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

On one occasion I talked with donors and alumni about how SuccessWorks’ career advising has benefitted me. -- I used communication skills to hold conversations with these donors and alumni, make them feel welcome, and enhance their interest in SuccessWorks and the mission of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

-- Utilized my knowledge of Chinese to read Chinese media, analyze hundreds of posts and organize my findings in order to determine relevant information. -- Every month I composed a report of the different social media posts I found and drew conclusions regarding Chinese views of the U.S. Visa program and specifically the U.S. Consulate in Shenyang, China. -- I also collaborated with 10 other project members to summarize our findings and create a plan for how U.S. Consulates and Embassies in China can change to improve their visitors’ experiences. -- Regularly communicated with my supervisor regarding questions I had, mistakes I made, and improvements I could make. Utilized these discussions in order to better my work as well as ensure that problems were caught early on and corrected immediately. -- Not an official employee of the U.S. Department of State.

-- Displayed self-driven attitude working as an online freelance translator. Translated manuals, advertisements, and legal documents from Chinese into English and English into Chinese. -- Utilized time management and organizational skills to work independently.
