Principal Director for Commercial Space within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering. In this role I serve as a senior government official supporting the U.S. Department of Defense’s (DoD’s) research and engineering efforts needed to assure our space capabilities and maintain our competitive advantage in the space domain.

I serve as Deputy Director of the Center for Space Policy and Strategy, managing day-to-day activities and staff in support of the Executive Director, Dr. Jamie Morin. The center performs objective, non-advocacy research and analysis on all space policy issues, publishing papers, reports and conducting events that advance important policy discussions to shape the future of the nation's space enterprise.

I direct Aerospace Corporation operations and personnel working in the Pentagon and at the Space Development Agency. We provide technical expertise and analysis on space-related topics to decision-makers.

Led 40+ person, multi-company, laboratory team supporting systems engineering at the Missile Defense Agency. Team members came from The Aerospace Corporation, MITRE, MIT Lincoln Labs, Center for Naval Analysis, Institute for Defense Analysis, John Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratories, and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories.

Directed Aerospace personnel in Virginia and Colorado Springs supporting the Missile Defense Agency's Command, Control, Battle Management & Communications (C2BMC) program element.

Technical liaison for the Space Based InfraRed System (SBIRS) serving on-site with the Air Force Program Executive Officer for Space. Provided engineering expertise during a time of significant technical and budget challenge for the programs (Defense Support Program, SBIRS High, SBIRS Low). Assisted the PEO with readiness certification for the Increment 1 ground system.

Led team of over 20 engineers and software developers creating and applying models and simulations to solve complex technical problems and provide critical analysis for decision makers. Provided analysis for satellite and launch system architecture development, optimization, anomaly resolution, operations support.

Led a team of over 20 engineers, programmers, and computer system experts providing Computer Aided Engineering capabilities to the corporation. Developed tools and performed analysis for spacecraft and launch vehicle development and operations.

Led a software development team creating analysis and simulation tools used for engineering analysis an engineering visualization of spacecraft and launch vehicles.

Engineer in the Computer-Aided Engineering Department. Wrote software for thermal, structural, and computational fluid dynamics mesh generation, analysis, and results post-processing and visualization. Developed detailed spacecraft simulation and visualization tools for multiple classified spacecraft programs. Developed 3D computer graphics training video for Shuttle astronauts. Took part as a member of several launch failure investigation teams, including the 1986 Challenger investigation (overlaid 3D computer graphics simulation with film imagery to locate initial O-ring burn-through location on solid rocket motor).
