Systems Engineer.Communications consultant for Dobbins Air Reserve Base GA. Performed engineering assessments on existing base communication systems and cable plant infrastructure. Identified system and infrastructure short falls and made technical recommendations for system upgrades or replacement. Developed a comprehensive base communications blueprint to provide a migration path for near and long term communication solutions for a base-wide open systems architecture. Local Area Network Engineer. Designed and installed a wide area network for a local government research lab. Installed and programmed network access multiplexers to provide FT1 service for integrated voice and data circuits in support of F-22 radar testing project. Support engineer in AFB Information Processing Center consolidation efforts. Performed engineering assessments to determine the existing baseline of LAN-to-main frame system connectivity. Analyzed that baseline to identify critical conditions such as single points-of-failure and insufficient bandwidth of WAN links. Engineered communication solutions for minimizing or eliminating choke points to ensure reliable LAN-to-main frame connectivity.Telephony Systems Engineer. Lead engineer for replacement of AFB dial central offices. Responsibilities included preliminary system design, including system layout, collecting line and trunk data, and local telco interface requirements. Reviewed and evaluated contractor equipment proposals, installation/test plans of selected systems. Developed RFP specifications for contractor installations.
