David Haglund is a Senior Executive Director and Portfolio Manager of the Templeton Frontier and MENA Market strategies. Responsible for establishing and growing the Frontier Fund to one of the largest Frontier products in the world and contributing in establishing the assets class itself. In addition, managing two institutional MENA mandates for different Sovereign Wealth Funds. Almost two decades of experience in capital markets, investment analysis and portfolio management. Extensive experience in in-depth analysis and valuation across industries and geographies. Strong understanding of macro, industry and company drivers. Extensive travelling throughout the global Emerging, Frontier and regional MENA markets. Over thousand of one-on-one meetings with executive management of public and private companies across the world. In addition, frequent meeting with policymakers, economists and financial analysts. Built a very strong professional network across industries and geographies. Experience in working alongside senior executives and boards to enhance corporate governance standards, transparency, strategy and value. Handled and participated in several M&A transaction in MENA and Africa region. Preceding arriving to UAE in 2004, he was working within the asset management field in Sweden. David holds a certificate of Corporate Governance from INSEAD and a M.S. in Business Administration & Economics from Lund University in Sweden. His education also encompassed studies at the National University in Singapore.
