David was the founding President of HYPN Media Management. Opened in 1979, HYPN became Canada's largest independent media management company and since 1998 has been part of the PHD division of Omnicom Group Inc..He is an investor and is currently on the board of several early stage private companies.Prior to 1979, he was Senior Vice President, Intermart Inc., the holding company for MacLaren Advertising and other communication related subsidiaries. His responsibilities include government liaison, new business planning and general management. Prior to this he was Vice President, Manager of the Creative Department from 1976 - 1978.From 1969-1976, he was Vice President, Media and Broadcast for MacLaren responsible for all media activities. Before joining MacLaren he was Director, Media and Programming at Young & Rubicam Ltd.David has been very active in the industry and his community and is the past Chairman of the Institute of Communications and Advertising (ICA). He recently retired as a director of the Canadian Media Directors Council and of NadBank. Previously, he was President, Canadian Media Directors Council; Vice Chairman, BBM Bureau of Measurement; Founding Director, Print Measurement Bureau; Chair of the ICA/ACA Joint Standing Committee with ACTRA and member of the ICA/ACA Joint Broadcast Committee. He chaired the Communications Committee of the YMCA of Greater Toronto from 1992-1997. David served as Chair of the Annex Residents Association from 2011-2019 and was previously Vice President of the North Rosedale Ratepayers Association. Married to Dr. Erica Fischer, David resides in Toronto and has two daughters Anna and Zara.
