Directed story development, copyedited all afternoon shows, and guided teams through breaking news.

Oversaw story development for 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. programs. Created weekly franchises “Who Knew” and “Soapbox” to engage audiences in new ways. Retooled formats for news programs to increase content stream and support local/corporate business goals. Led the news team in the gathering, production, and distribution of content around the Miracle on the Hudson and breaking news coverage when the state legislature passed the bill approving gay marriage.

Oversaw day-to-day operations of the newsroom, which included content development for the news program and website and all scheduling for the editorial staff. Instrumental in bringing WBZ its first win of the May ratings sweeps for the 11 p.m. show in more than 20 years. Launched new station news campaign and identity with a focus on community. Part of restructuring task force responsible for driving efficiencies and cost-savings in the newsroom. Introduced new show on WSBK TV 38 our sister station, which provided a lifestyle approach to news. Launched newsroom switchover to non-linear editing system, resulting in quicker editing and faster time to air.
