Responsible for the FARA Increment 1 Vehicle Systems managing a team of 15 engineers. Systems include propulsion, fuel, hydraulics, environmental control, landing gear, payload actuation, crew seats and armor. During the Increment 1 phase the Vehicle Systems team has been issuing tier 2 and tier 3 requirements including processing requirement changes with the Army program office, progressing preliminary system designs, engaging suppliers with RFIs and RFPs and developing risk mitigation plans.

Responsible for mentoring IPTs through allocation, derivation and decomposition of subsystems requirements including developing an integrated roadmap of subsystem qualification plans as well as coordinating high level program technical decisions across the systems IPTs to ensure consistency with overall program objectives. Additional responsibilities include coordination with Bell engineering, program management and business development to influence customer requirements.

Responsible for leading the V-280 Environmental Control and Fuel System IPT during the final 3 months of the CD&RR Phase 2 contract. During CDRR, responsibilities include customer coordination, requirements development, supplier selection and design evolution to a PDR level of maturity in addition to Weapon System Design Contract proposal support and planning for successful execution.

Responsible for leading the V-280 Mechanical Systems IPT through the Air Vehicle Concept Demonstrator development, build and demonstration flight test. Systems responsibilities include propulsion, auxiliary power, fire protection, fuel, hydraulics and environmental controls. During the follow-on Concept Demonstration and Risk Reduction (CDRR) Phase I and II contracts added responsibility for cockpit controls and grew the team to 30+ engineers while also adding two managers. During CDRR responsibilities include customer coordination, requirements development, supplier selection and design evolution to a PDR level of maturity in addition to Weapon System Design Contract proposal support and planning for successful execution.

Responsible for leading the 412EPI (engine and glass cockpit upgrade to the 412EP) STC engineering team from the design phase through the certification of the supplemental type certificate. In this role I was responsible for managing budgets, requirements, supplier interactions, testing, interactions with the certification group and coordinating efforts between Mirabel, Piney Flats and Fort Worth.

Responsible for leading a team of engineers and consultants in designing processes and writing functional specifications to utilize ENOVIA in the design and management of engineering data, requiring coordination with engineering management, integrated operations, customer support and quality.

Provided support to the Chief Engineer of Commercial programs. Responsibilities included management of the model 407 EASA Joint Operational Evaluation Review Board and planning the model 412 Strake and Fast Fin Supplemental Type Certificate project.

Responsible for design definition, supplier management, production operations oversight and problem resolution in support of development, manufacturing and fielding of two aircraft systems/installations. Managed a team of 14 deployed and 8 non-deployed engineers. Additional responsibilities include control account manager, support of program management related to acquisition of additional business, interface with customer technical personnel and interface with functional management to meet program staffing requirements.

Responsible for all aspects of the OBIGGS design and qualification including requirements generation, supplier management, system performance, system qualification and installation integration of the OBIGGS subsystem. Additional responsibilities included coordination with Agusta Westland, Agusta Westland Bell, Lockheed Martin and NAVAIR as well as control account manager EVMS responsibilities.

Responsible for proposing, planning and executing ice protection system R&D activities. Areas of focus included new technologies as well as new analysis methods and tools. Additional responsibilities included generation and briefing of progress reports and financial tracking.

Subsystem IPT content included engines, fuel system, engine subsystems, secondary power, environmental control system, and landing gear. Duties encompassed establishing subsystem program statement of work, creating subsystem estimates including subcontract effort, supplier interface/coordination, managing risk reduction activity and establishing a subsystem resource loaded schedule for earned value management. Responsible for the management of a team of 11 engineers.

ECS IPT content included the air cycle cooling/heating system as well as an integral regenerable NBC filtration system. Duties included supplier management, Army customer coordination/interface, requirements/interface management, software/crew systems interface definition, system/component qualification, support of aircraft build, flight test support, and EVMS control account manager responsibilities. Supplier content consisted of multiple subcontracts, the largest of which was approximately $100M.

Responsible for engine air inlet redesign for low observable requirement compatibility, sizing of inert gas generating system and fuel system analyses as well as generation of fuel system component specifications for use in supplier RFP activities. Additional responsibilities included participating in supplier proposal evaluations and selections.

V-22 Tiltrotor Engineering Manufacturing Development Flight Test - Responsible for support of flight test aircraft propulsion systems and components including design modifications, repairs, failure analysis, qualification programs and flight test data reduction.Ice Protection System – Lead engineer, responsible for coordinating preparations for icing trials, ice protection system component qualifications, reviewing icing trials test plan, coordinating with flight test engineers, and identifying required instrumentation. Electronic Warfare System – Lead engineer, responsible for design of cooling system for electronic countermeasures system, including design of ducting, sizing fan, writing specification and supplier coordination. Engine Air Inlet – Lead engineer for design of composite electrothermally anti-iced inlet. Responsible for supplier coordination and onsite support in England.UH-1Y/AH-1Z Upgrade Engine Air Inlet - Coordinated development of inlet shape to minimize pressure loss and distortion for the UH-1Y. Utilized VSAERO to perform three dimensional inlet analysis. Performed pressure loss and inlet distortion analysis for the UH-1Y and the AH-1Z. BA609 Tiltrotor Engine Air Inlet - Performed initial inlet sizing and analysis using VSAERO. Fuel System - Developed fuel system statement of work, initial design budget estimate, and initial layouts. Wing De-ice System - Established wing pneumatic de-ice system requirements. Engine Performance - Established engine power assurance algorithms
