Provide leadership and governance across Disability Services. Oversee quality assurance activities contributing to the analysis, recommendation and development of departmental practice, policies and procedures to manage risk, monitor safety, and drive continuous improvement and optimal quality in alignment with all agency, legislative, regulatory and industry requirements. Contribute to the provision of leadership, expertise and support especially for high-risk clients, and advisory support for critical and complex case management issues.

Provide clinical leadership and governance to the Social Work profession across Mental Health Services in SALHN. Provide and coordinate clinical supervision. Lead clinical competency development and assurance processes and contribute to the development and implementation of evidence informed, accountable, collaborative, multidisciplinary service provision to Mental Health consumers and their families. Assist Senior Managers to provide effective leadership, governance and strategic direction to Mental Health Services as a whole, and also within the context of Social Work specific services and programs within SALHN Mental Health Services and promote multi-disciplinary core competencies.

Provide professional leadership, and governance to the Allied Health clinical services and programs within SALHN Mental Health Services to ensure the delivery of high quality Allied Health services across the Division. Take a leading role in implementing systems and processes to provide change leadership, enhance decision-making, and ensure clinical competency of Allied Health staff across the Mental Health Services Division. Responsibility for leading a multidisciplinary collaborative approach to complex change processes at a time of reform within SALHN Mental Health Services. Will ensure appropriate professional support mechanisms are in place for all Allied Health staff providing care within Mental Health services, acting as a central point of contact and ‘trouble shooter’ as required. Provide advice and support related to performance management issues within the Mental Health Allied Health workforce, liaising with the Principal Clinical Psychologist/Occupational Therapist/Social Worker as required.

Provide consultation and liaison for the provisions of safety and quality across SALHN Mental Health Services. Conduct and coordinate critical incident investigations including Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and associated recommendations for ongoing quality improvements to prevent or reduce future adverse events. Manage external investigations and respond to requests from the SA Health Safety and Quality Unit and the Crown Solicitors for information relevant to a Coroner and other legal authorities.
