I am currently serving the City of Akron, Ohio as an Assistant Director of Law. I handle extensive contract drafting for all departments and city functions. I also serve as counsel of record in litigation matters, public record requestss, and draft governmental documents such as ordinances.I previously served as Senior Associate General Counsel at the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority. In that role I drafted contracts, real estate documents, policies and procedures, and similar documents including resolutions. I also served as counsel of record on litigation matters, answering public record records, and other CMHA matters.Prior to entering governmental work, I served as Corporate Counsel for Cleveland Construction, where I worked most closely with the general contracting division performing construction litigation and transactional work. I also created and conducted employee training, managed and directed outside counsel, and performed some collection work for CCI's sister company Telling Industries (a steel stud manufacturer). During law school, I was an intern for Xomox Industries monitoring its patents, trademarks, and copyrights; clerked for Judge Teresa Liston of the Franklin County Municipal Court; interned at the Mediation Office of the US Court of Appeals 6th Circuit; and was a research assistant for James O'Reilly for an update to one of his books. During my undergraduate years, I interned at General Electric Aircraft Engines in the headquarters of EA&S where I created programs to help the various manufacturing plants function more efficiently; interned for Dames & Moore/URS where the majority of my time was spent preparing NPDES permits for power plants, which included taking field samples and categorizing the results; and interned for Richard Geottle where I worked in the field - surveying, anchor tie backs, and monitoring time and inventory for a number of projects, the most high profile being Heinz Field (the Pittsburgh Steelers Stadium).
