HSQE Manager working across a range of safety critical environments including Aviation, Petrochemical and Utilities industry sectors . Supporting senior management, civil engineering and grounds maintenance operational teams to ensure compliance to current legislative, industry standards and integrated management system requirements.Support the development and delivery of the HSQE strategic action plan.Maintenance of the company’s Business Management system to ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001, Achilles CEMARS ISO14065, Achilles Building Confidence and Achilles UVBD Verify standards. Review integrated business management system and provide technical leadership to achieve successful transition to ISO9001 2015 and ISO14001 2015 standards.Manage a programme of internal and third party Audits and Inspections to monitor HSQE compliance.Lead accident investigations to ensure root causes are identified and corrective actions taken.Develop and improve the company monthly HSQE performance report and submit to the board of directors and senior management with recommendations for action.Lead in the development and delivery of HSQE improvement initiatives and campaigns. Support operational teams in the development and implementation of project specific HSQE management plans. Support the bid team in the tender process by providing technical input for submissions.

I work for a civil engineering and grounds maintenance contractor based in Scotland called Land Engineering. The organisation employs approximately 500 directly engaged staff supported by around 500 subcontractors. I work as part of an HSQE team providing advice and support to the organisation on all aspects of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance and best practice.The key functions of my role are to:Provide expert advice on company legislative requirements and industry best practice.Compile clear, evidence based monthly reports of health and safety performance for the management board.Provide support to the business in the development and review of policies procedures, guidance notes, risk assessments, COSHH assessments and safe systems of work.Plan, programme and deliver active monitoring activities including Audits and Inspections focussing on legislative compliance, best practice and delivery of company objectives.Assist in competence management through the creation and delivery of internal training modules, short courses, inductions, toolbox talks and safety alerts.Lead and manage accident investigations, providing expertise in root cause and trend analysis.Support the organisations health and safety committee and chair their meetings.Promote and monitor reporting unplanned events including near misses and suggestions for improvement.Other initiatives and projects I have recently been involved in include:Provide support to plan, organise and host a Working Well Together Safety and Health Awareness event in conjunction the HSE attended by over 100 members of our supply chain.Working closely with a number of manufacturers to develop bespoke items of PPEEstablish an incentivisation and recognition scheme to promote continual improvement and best practice.
