I was responsible for all aspects of the tax affairs of PGS throughout the area, including all tax planning, compliance and quarterly reporting work heading a two-person team. I also managed another two legal professionals and the financial accountant responsible for the statutory accounts. I had a departmental budget responsibility of approximately $900K. Key projects have been:Planning, coordinating and implementing a transfer pricing review and associated documentation;Numerous individual country project plans including Nigeria; Albania, Qatar. ..;UK aspects of a demerger of the FPSO business unit which was completed in June 2006;Transfer pricing negotiations with the UK competent authority for oil service companies in relating to vessel leasing; andHeavily involved in planning and implementing internal controls for the tax department to meet Sarbanes-Oxley requirements for quarterly reporting and initial work on defining requirements for the Senior Accounting Officer regulations.I was also heavily involved/instigated the setting up of an industrial discussion group for oil service companies to discuss common African tax issues which has now expanded to cover the Middle-East.I am also the Chairman of the PGS UK defined benefit pension fund - assets approx £42M.

The combined worldwide value of the merger was approximately $200m;PFI work tax planning including:- a toll road in the Czech Republic with a projected revenue of $1.5bn involving discussions with partners on treaty shopping, thin capitalisation and transfer pricing issues; and- the Dublin Docks road tunnel in Ireland.lead consortium tax adviser for 6 train LNG plant project in Nigeria worth approximately $5bn including negotiating in meetings with the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service.
