Howdy! I’m a Sophomore honors student studying Computer Science with a minor in Economics at Texas A&M. Although I come from the great state of Missouri (and city of St. Louis), I was granted a full ride scholarship by the Craig and Galen Brown Foundation to pursue what I love a bit further south. Stemming from my earliest days of programming in Scratch, I’ve been intrigued by computers’ potential to reach what humans alone can’t. Through serving as President of the Hack Club and volunteering as a robotics teacher in high school, I built up my skills and became familiar with the power of code. In February, I brought my knowledge of frontend programming languages to building the UI and webcam implementation for a drowsy driving detection system. And this past summer, I reached new heights with the development of a tumor identification machine learning method for H&E stained tissue images, utilizing Microsoft’s GigaPath and my own classification model in Python.Going forward, I hope to apply my skills in dataset handling, data analysis, and machine learning to an internship in the finance industry, healthcare industry, or anywhere in between. From sports betting to law, I’m amazed at computers’ pattern recognition capabilities, especially when it’s anything but obvious to me. I know that I am a great fit in this field and my quick learning and hard work will help me succeed.Beyond the technical, I love to spend time outdoors and I am honored to have earned the title of Eagle Scout. I find great joy in the service of others, currently through my roles developing engineers in the Student Engineers’ Council and mentoring younger students with the Aggie Salvation Army.
