Worked on overcriminalization issue including: writing blog posts about overcriminalization in the news, research & implementation of federal Mistake of Law Defense, and original research into incarceration levels due to criminal offenses promulgated by regulatory agencies. Provided written summaries of events around Washington Metropolitan Area. Mentorship under former Attorney General Edwin Meese III.

Pioneered unprecedented research into Department of Defense appropriations bills’ earmarks and subsequent awarded contracts for Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs subcommittee on Contracting Oversight. Analyzed nature of earmark-funded contracts including: contract competitiveness & recipients, earmark costs and geographic overlap of contract recipients and 110th Congressional districts.

Led initial fragmentation-size distribution research as part of DARPA Reactive Materials Structures program. Initiated efforts to catch, maintain, and analyze explosively-generated fragments. Developed low-temperature threshold, high-time resolution, near-IR pyrometer to measure temperature of initial shockwave-heated reactive material particles.

Taught physics at James Madison High School in Fairfax County, VA to upper-class students. Responsible for creation of course curriculum, syllabus, assignments, and exams as well as execution of lectures and labs. Created and maintained class website. Directly accountable for student grades.
