I'm an expert at understanding how to get the most out of myself and others. The secret is finding out what we really want. My most objective is excelling at work and at home, concurrently, without jeopardizing either. I leave it better than I found it. For nearly two decades I have built teams within an R&D and have experienced so much. From small start-up to mature majority market share, there is so much to enjoy about the experiences happening in biotech.In my career I have never actively sought out or focused on a promotion. I started in 2006 as an entry-level research assistant at One Lambda Inc. I was promoted multiple times within that small company and offered opportunities to build my own group. The small company was incredibly successful and attracted the attention of Thermo Fisher Scientific in 2011. I was able to continue my success and growth by observing and embracing the differences between the small medical device maker and the much larger global conglomerate. I feel lucky to have had that experience. Within a few years I was offered an opportunity to take the lead for a new company product. The product was a sanger-sequencing based HLA typing test with 510(k) FDA IVD clearance. It quickly took over the market share. Of the many great experiences of being the Technical Process Owner of an IVD product, I enjoyed the cross-functional interactions the most. There was a natural transition from the R&D lab to a process engineers desk, working together with leads from Quality, Production, Customer Service, Finance, Planning, Manufacturing, Technical Operations, Sales, and Marketing, while still balancing bench duties in the lab.After 15 years of contributions to a mission, I took a big step and an accepted an offer with a small biotherapeutic company, still in stealth mode, and ready to break out. As part of the High-Throughput Screening Team I was able to put some of my skills to work building out an NGS platform. On the way I was able to concurrently build the Biodistribution team platform, the tissue extraction platform, the Quantitative Bio and Data Analysis team, the automation engineering team, and learn about AAV biology. I quietly left my fingerprints throughout the operation and hope my contributions will get them into the clinic.My latest adventure took me to the booming industry of CAR-T therapies. My role and contributions centered around taking the QC group to the next level in digital documentation. My previous role gave me the experience to create a LIMS and ELN system using Benchling.
