As a Learning Designer with POLS, I work in collaboration with Australia’s top universities to develop accredited post-graduate courses (AQF levels 8 and 9). Working across programs in the discipline of Computer Science, Business, and Psychology, I ensure that learning experiences are authentic, interactive, and aligned with contemporary industry standards.Key aspects of this role include:• Designing constructively aligned curricula that provide students with a coherent and effective learning experience.• Developing authentic, industry-aligned assessments in collaboration with subject matter experts.• Drawing on contemporary developments in EdTech to create immersive and engaging learning experiences.• Working with project teams to scope, coordinate, and deliver educational products.

UTS College is the premium pathway provider to the University of Technology Sydney. The College’s integrated learning model, branded as Learning.Connected, follows a student-centred philosophy within the context of hybrid and online modes of delivery. Implementing principles of social learning, authentic assessment and active student engagement, the college’s learning model aims to provide students with deep learning experiences that prepare them for their bachelor’s and master’s subjects at UTS.As a Learning Experience Designer, I was responsible for the pedagogical design of accredited online courses at AQF levels 5 and 6 in the disciplines of Business and Education, with support roles in Science, IT/Engineering and Design. Working collaboratively with academic and support staff, I ensured that courses in these discipline areas aligned with UTS College’s learning model and provided a coherent and engaging learning experience for students. Key aspects of this role included:• Designing interactive learning experiences aligned with industry practices.• Identifying and integrating fit-for-purpose educational technologies to enhance the student experience.• Providing advice and guidance on best practices in learning design to academic staff.• Development of professional development materials and programs.

As a freelance elearning developer, I worked with some of Australia’s leading learning design agencies to create educational and training resources for clients in the private and state sectors. Key working areas in this role included:• Developing technical training packages for transport authorities in QLD and NSW.• Designing curricula for accredited vocational training courses.• Using industry-standard authoring tools to transform text-based content into interactive, online learning experiences.• Collaborating with project members across multiple institutions and departments.

Austria

The Global English Teaching Academy is an award-winning TEFL organisation delivering vocational teacher training programs in Austria’s education sector. The academy’s vocational CertTESOL program combines accredited training with a practical teaching placement to produce engaging and effective EFL teachers who are classroom ready. As the Director of Studies, I led a team of academic and administrative staff to develop and deliver a number of training programs (Trinity CertTESOL, Cambridge CELTP) within the Austrian school sector.

Austria

As the lead tutor for the academy’s Trinity CertTESOL, I led the delivery of successive programs over a four-year period. Design and facilitation of course workshops, teacher coaching and observations, and delivery of assessments were key aspects of this role.

The Austrian Bilingual Classroom Initiative is a not-for-profit educational institution that delivers immersive language programs in Austrian schools for the purposes of linguistic and cultural exchange. As a teacher for ABCI, I planned EFL units mapped to the Austrian curriculum and delivered them to primary and high school students in schools around Austria.
