Among the longest standing MCAN Board Members (2007-18). MCAN's network of locally organized citizen groups spans 70 communities. MCAN promotes policy awareness and propagates successful local and municipal actions to reduce climate impacts in homes and businesses in communities. I led strategic planning, and help with conference, hiring, and fund raising. Leader, Climate Action Brookline, 2007-9; Board 2007-present: I infused new vigor, strategic direction and organizational capacity among local concerned citizens to build a showcase MCAN Affiliate chapter. I established the first ever budget, wrote five successful proposals to state, town, and private foundations, hired and oversaw a Campaign Director, expanded the network from 40 to 800 individuals and established successful strategic alliances and outreach projects across all community sectors. CONCURRENT & RELATED: Co-founded Brookline Climate Week, entering its 8th year. Spurred establishment of official town climate body: Selectmen's Climate Action Committee. I built community and business contacts, partnerships, and brand/concept awareness in various markets to broaden solar access through peer to peer solar panel sharing. Led scientist recruitment, program development and quality oversight of $2 million/year international volunteer-aided field research grant program. Ensured reliable project pipeline for up to 60% of total $4 million/year portfolio. Assessed ~1,000 inquiries, ~400 proposals. Nurtured and oversaw 100 research studies into viable long-term Earthwatch projects across 29 countries on 6 continents. Built and retained relations worldwide with 100s of scientific institutions and experts for peer review and project recruitment. Negotiated budgets, safety and logistical details, and technical peer review. Helped organize and lead annual conference sessions and other professional conference sessions. Coined these apt descriptors of Earthwatch: "National Geographic without the armchair.""A way to democratize science."

Donor relations and home office program communications for leading primatologist, Patricia Wright, conservation and research architect of the largest, most primate species-rich national park in Madagascar. Helped establish undergraduate study abroad program in Madagascar. Wrote successful proposal to New England BioLabs for new research endeavor in Madagascar.

Provided research, global trend analysis graphs, and writing to congressional report for Senate & House committees, staff and public re. pending legislation, including: Perspectives on the Role of Science and Technology in Sustainable Development (1994); and retained to develop and write a chart book of indicative global trends.

Responsible for soliciting and editing contractor's weekly energy program updates to senior agency officials; official public correspondence and annual report. Monitored relevant congressional legislative and regulatory mandates. Supported Renewable Energy Director.

Co-led ethnographic field study expedition to remote site, yielding new insights to a disappearing people. Wrote biodiversity capability/action statement for museum director, board, and donors. Directed all aspects of a complex field research program funded by Ford Foundation: challenging logistics, financial management, staffing and management from three collaborating organizations. Led my team to remote locations across Kenya's rugged terrain. A pioneering Climate Adaptation project. Raised US $240,000. Garnered highest national political and media attention for plant research/conservation and Kenyan pride.
