● Aided in development of the ANDVT (Advanced Narrowband Digital Voice Terminal) and HAVE QUICK waveforms for the JEM SDR (Joint tactical radio system Enhanced Multiband inter/intra team radio Software Defined Radio).● Developed test bench to assess and improve LPC-10 VOCODER (voice encoder) interoperability with legacy MBITR before full ANDVT waveform was complete. ● Designed test environment to assess BER (Bit Error Rate) at various SNRs (Signal to Noise Ratio) while keeping radios in close proximity. Evaluated equipment to automate BER curve generation. Wrote test plan for live military satellite retransmit test to verify simulated testing.● Wrote highly optimized BCH error correcting code decoder for the Texas Instruments C5510 DSP to decode ANDVT's MI (Message Indicator) before encrypted transmission began.● Redesigned squelch detectors and squelch state machine for optimal ANDVT performance. ● Identified hardware and software changes necessary for replacement of obsolete audio CODEC and fractional-N synthesizer on the CSEL (Combat Survivor Evader Locator) SDR. Completely rewrote device drivers for the replacement CODEC and synthesizer. Wrote test bench to verify synthesizer driver before hardware was available.
