Since 2006 I have focused all my work activity on writing for the transport and automotive sector. My editors and publishers indicate that my stories seem to strike a useful balance between informing and entertaining. I'm currently published in three major Australian truck publications - Trucksales.com.au, PowerTorque, and The West Australian, WA's daily paper that attracts a readership of over 600,000 for the Saturday/Weekend edition. I also assist The West with road tests and technical articles on passenger cars as required - generally a couple of times a month. The West's truck section is the most successful of any newspaper in Australia, heavily supported by every truck dealer in the state as well as brand advertising from manufacturers.My objective is to bring readers into the cabs of the trucks that run on Australia's highways, giving them a taste of the technology that modern trucks feature and a glimpse into the life of a truck driver.Each publication is a different market and I style each story to the readership.In addition I'm contracted to write press release material and show handouts for truck and trailer manufacturers, and currently write for two internal magazines published by car manufacturers for their owners. Two or three times a year, a good friend of mine in Sweden gets me to write a piece on Australian Road Trains, which he translates into Swedish and publishes for readers of his contractors magazine, who seem obsessed with the size of our biggest rigs.My photography work was published in the 2013 Kenworth and CAT Trucks calendars, and I am used frequently by several brands for photography assignments in Western Australia.Apart from that, I'm pretty relaxed, so I can always fit some more in . . .
