Managed the floating camp "Eclipse". Vertol 107 was primary logging aircraft until 1995 when the Canadian certified Chinook 234 was brought up from the US. Initially ran large ground crews and chokers but this method became impractical due to constraints associated with handling large volumes of logs and numerous other challenges with the logistics of economics and safety.Endeavoured to source out a grapple and power pack to enable productive logging by grapple and limited ground crews. Eventually, the Chinook program evolved into an efficient and productive logging machine. Boy Howdy!!Sadly, in 2011 the Chinook went South in search of less punishing activities for it's aging airframe. Helifor closed it's doors in July 2017. One door closes and another opened for me! Off I go on another adventure.
