Calgary Alberta

Outsourced in June 2019 by Imperial Oil to facilitate and lead the smooth transition of Imperial's Quarry Park Campus in Calgary and Research Center with an occupancy of 3000. Having focused on addressing design and construction issues on Imperials behalf prior to the transition, we began to focus fully on driving cost savings and functional excellence. In the remaining 7 months of 2019 we reduced costs by 30% ($3M annually) and improved operational performance and regulatory compliance. Managed a staff of 35 employees and approximately 50 contractors. Primary of all objectives was to ensure that 'Nobody Gets Hurt' through a very focused safety program and a significant emphasis on the use of behavior based safety. This was a very successful program achieved by a very capable and motivated team developed over a three year period.

Calgary, Ab

Oversaw the start-up of operations including 1 million square feet at Imperial Campus and Research Center. Manage an operational budget of $40M, with full control of resource allocation including manpower, materials and services. Managed a multi-disciplined team of 10 employees and oversight of 50 sub-contractors to startup and operate the facility under my guidance and direction.

Eastern Canada

Spearheaded overall facility management at Imperial's eastern refineries including Sarnia, Nanticoke and Dartmouth. Established positive working relations and collaboration with refinery management teams to support facility production. Developed service level agreements (SLA) at each location including safety and operations while ensuring alignment with corporate requirements. Oversaw a total of 11 direct reports including 3 in St. Johns, 4 in Sarnia, 2 in Dartmouth and 2 in Nanticoke. Managed financial responsibility including the oversight of $30M project budget to carry out all operations within client specifications.

Antlantic Canada

Handled overall project management responsibilities of approximately 400 former petroleum sites which involved demolition, assessment and remediation. Participated in Atlantic PIRI and liaised with Environmental regulators to support site remediation programs and cleanup standards in Atlantic Canada. Maintained a high degree of safety, environmental and regulatory awareness through the demolition and environemnal assessmnet of a maximum of 35 gas stations in on year throughout the Atlantic region. Managed an annual operating budget of $6M to oversee environmental programs which involved hiring Consultants and resource management. Handled legal matters including corresponding to 15 litigation files over the course of remedial project work.

Assumed the lead role in the design of service station and petroleum plant facilities for the Esso marketing network. Implemented the Operations Integrity system after rollout.. Collaborated with purchasing department to specify what equipment purchases were required to carry out project work. Conducted a study on increased product losses upon introduction of Automatic Temperature Compensation at service and resolved the matter.
