David Patrick has broad education and over 35 years of experience in community ecology, assessment and restoration, public land policy and regulation, and eco-asset valuation, development and marketing. Mr. Patrick has become broadly recognized for his work on conservation market assessment and development, establishing the first Corps-certified private mitigation banks (stream and wetland) in the states of Montana and North Dakota, and providing entitlement of numerous additional banks in many other parts of the country. Mr. Patrick’s evolving career has ranged from the non-profit sector as director of a public lands policy and education-oriented environmental institute and college professor, to a subsequent role as the initial Director of Operations for a private equity fund focused on ecosystem services and eco-asset banking ($900M in raised capital to date).Over the past 25 years Mr. Patrick has focused almost exclusively on development of market-based resource conservation/restoration strategies such as stream, wetland and species mitigation banking, water quality trading, water leasing (in-stream flow), and conservation finance, including private equity fund structure for conservation acquisitions and market development.Mr. Patrick is President of Eco-Asset Holdings, LLC, a consolidated mitigation banking and ecosystem services development company operating throughout the inter-mountain West and northern Great Plains.
