I am Co-Chair of the Firm's Energy Practice Group and have over 40 years of experience in various legal aspects of the oil and gas industry, including acquisitions and sales of assets and equity interests, drafting and negotiating leases, contracts, and agreements related to field operations. I have represented clients in connection with surface use conflicts, day to day exploration and development activities, and the resolution of oil and gas disputes. I am the recent recipient of the Ernest E. Smith Lifetime Achievement Award, recipient of the 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award by Best Lawyers, served as Chair of the State Bar of Texas Oil, Gas and Energy Resources Section and on the Executive Committee of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation. I have been previously recognized in Chambers, Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers and named as Houston’s Best Lawyer of the Year. I was President of the Spring Branch Memorial Sports Association and Chair of Baseball USA. I currently serve on the Board of Directors of DXP Inc., and the Advisory Boards of IEL and the Texas Journal of Oil, Gas and Energy Law.
