I have enjoyed a varied career to date , initially as a project Engineer on Electrical and control projects , moving onto Process Engineering and Technical roles , probably more linked with Chemical or Mechanical Engineering Graduate positions . Continuous Improvement, problem solving via Root Cause Analysis , waste elimination and structured system development was to the forefront of these roles . Opportunities became available to expand my responsibilities beyond manufacturing into the technical customer service arena broadening these skills and having a wider business appreciation with a customer facing role but linked to manufacturing / production . A change in ownership of the company brought with it a new culture and new roles , allowing me to put the continuous improvement to use in a role which linked Operations and Engineering work streams , driving improved availability before taking on Operational Management roles , with EHS, Quality and personnel management . Working at this level in a 24/7 Chemical manufacturing environment brought with it challenge and a depth of practical knowledge and utilisation of safe systems of work , auditing skills and further development as a leader . My role as part of the Site Leadership team allowed me to bring the previous experience together , coupled with financial modelling of improvement initiatives, requesting capital funding , co-ordinating multi disciplined programs for the site based on a number of drivers eg EHS, Compliance , R&D, Growth , Energy , productivity , quality etc. All this experience was a excellent bedrock for the GM role with Cunningham
