I am currently in a Commercial Finance Director role where I use my financial skills to manage and run the business as well as being hands on with the commercial aspects for a medium sized property company based in Surrey. With a Master’s degree in Engineering, I favour practical companies and combined with my Chartered Accountant qualification at a Big 4 accountancy firm, I have developed my commercial experience with every appointment I have taken which will prove invaluable in any further executive positions.My current role is extremely varied and has given me experience at the sharp end of a business whilst maintaining responsibility for various internal financial reporting which we use to determine the strategic direction of the company. I produce statutory accounts and am the company secretary for most of our companies and at the same time am heavily involved in tax structuring to minimise our exposure.I am a strong decision maker and am used to managing teams and operations with a view to seeing how that reflects in our financial figures or other measurement bases. My experiences with various build projects (the largest of which was £10m) have required extensive negotiation and commercial skills which give me a unique insight when coupled with my financial experience as a Chartered Accountant (CA).
