Synergia is a leading Australasian analytics, consulting and evaluation group, with two decades’ experience in health, social services and the public sector.My work focuses on using qualitative and quantitative system methods and tools to combine broad engagement with best evidence. Combining the best available evidence with broad levels of engagement to support informed and collaborative discourse is, I believe, something we must get better at, if we are to solve many of the issues we face today.

I provide guest lectures on the application of system dynamics simulation modelling in health as well as graduate supervision and research support. During 2008 I ran a post-graduate programme in health sector simulation. I am also involved in a number of research projects with staff from the School of Population Health.

Worked with the Centre for Sustainability on projects focused on New Zealand's transition to a sustainable energy future

I spent four years helping establish and run a post-graduate programme in Design Management. Working with designers my focus was on exploring how to design environments conducive to good design and innovation.

I left PA Consulting Group in 1996 to focus on developing my expertise in the area of Systems Thinking and System Dynamics. During this period I worked across a number of large organisations and sectors in the private and public sectors. Over time, I increasingly incorporated systems analysis and simulation techniques into the design, strategy and implementation work I was involved in.

Joined PA on my return from the UK in 1987. Focused on change management and quality improvement - going to Japan on a study tour in the early 90's. Managed the consulting team in the Auckland office during my last two years. Left PA to establish my own consulting firm so I could focus on developing my knowledge and skills in System Dynamics and the broader system disciplines. This has been the focus of my work since then.
