G&S Stainless Services specialise in Stainless Steel fabrication. They offer bespoke manufacturing and installation of stainless steel vessels in the food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, along with installation of process pipework. They also manufacture architectural products including platforms, handrails, balustrades and stairs. This position has provided me a vast knowledge of industrial manufacturing, industry standards and business and office management.

My work placement, consist of a Student Engineering role in Anord Control Systems were I worked for a number of months in both the mechanical design and the fabrication of the low voltage switchgear. Within my work placement in Anord I spent 4 weeks in the factory learning how panels are built from start to finish, while also learning some of the problems that the fabricators face when building these panels. Then I spent the next four weeks in the offices on Solidworks/CAD, learning a lot about drawing sheet metal parts, advance mating in assembly’s and making manufacturing drawing for production. After my 8 weeks of work placement were finished within Anord, I was keep on to continue working during the summer the mouths within the company.
