David Rosier is an Academy award nominee producer. He is founder of DECIA FILMS, a film production company driven by a reflection on human relationships to contribute to the creation of new film languages and show powerful stories. The company is a signatory of the Ecoprod charter. David has more than 16 years of experience as a writer and producer for public tv networks and commercials for public and private institutions. In 2014, he produced his first feature film, THE SALT OF THE EARTH, co-directed by Wim Wenders and Juliano Ribeiro Salgado in which David is also co-writer. The film won a Jury Prize at Un Certain Regard in Cannes 2014, in 2015 the film won the Cesar for Best Documentary and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Documentary Film the same year. In 2018 he produced and co-wrote his second feature film for cinema POPE FRANCIS - A MAN OF HIS WORD, directed by Wim Wenders, Official Selection in Cannes. In 2021, he coproduced AHED'S KNEE, by Nadav Lapid, Jury Prize in Cannes. David Rosier is a member of the Académie des Césars and the European Film Academy.David is deeply involved in the preservation of nature and indigenous peoples rights : he co-created NATURE RIGHTS in 2009, a NGO striving for the identification, the support and the promotion of any initiative related to these subjects. The main mission : urging the change of international standards regarding nature, and reach true legal recognition of legal rights for ecosystems and endangered tribes, through advocacy and field activities. The organization is a structural partner of “End Ecocide on Earth”, the “Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature”, and hosts events like the "Tribunal des Droits de la Nature" in COP21 and COP23. NATURE RIGHTS also fights on the field, against the "Montagne d'Or" project in French Guyana for example, or by offering technical support and network development of agro-ecological local projects (Réseau des savoirs de la forêt).
