NATURE'S RIGHTS

Since 2009, NatureRights has defended a clear vision: a world where the rights of Nature and those of the communities who protect it are fully recognized, respected, and upheld. The organization operates at the intersection of environmental justice, human rights, and ecosystem preservation, combining fieldwork, legal advocacy, research, and the transmission of traditional knowledge. Our mission is built around three key pillars: ➡️ Advocacy for the Rights of Nature We work towards the legal recognition of the Rights of Nature, supporting local and international campaigns, participating in Rights of Nature Tribunals, and developing innovative legal strategies. We collaborate with NGOs, lawyers, Indigenous leaders, and institutions to help establish legal frameworks that respect the living world. ➡️ “Forest Knowledge” Program – French Guiana Active since 2017, this program supports food sovereignty, the preservation of traditional knowledge, and the protection of territories. Alongside Indigenous and local communities (Palikur, Kali'na, Saramaka, Creole), we develop agroecology projects, forest restoration, sustainable economic models, and cultural heritage preservation. ➡️ Territories & Cultures We lead cultural, artistic, and educational initiatives across the Amazon, French Guiana, France, and internationally. Exhibitions, conferences, workshops, and intercultural events are powerful tools to raise awareness, inspire action, and amplify the voices of frontline communities. 🌱 Based in Paris (Le Consulat – Sous-Station Voltaire) and in French Guiana, NatureRights is deeply engaged in climate justice, Indigenous sovereignty, biodiversity protection, and the defense of the Earth’s rights.
