David started his professional career with Andersen in Perth in 1985 and moved to Singapore in 1990 before relocating to Melbourne in 1994. He was admitted as a Partner in 1995, joined Ernst & Young in 2002 and performed a number of client service partner, account leader and firm leadership roles.He was also the CPA Australia National Practice Committee Chairman, represented CPA Australia for many years in various Treasury and ATO forums including the Double Tax Agreements Panel as well as being part of Treasurer Costello’s experts committee in relation to the Review of International Taxation Arrangements.In July 2013 David relocated to Singapore to take on the role of EY Global Compliance and Reporting (“GCR”) Asia Pacific Enablement Leader in addition to his role as GCR leader on various global services client engagements.In the enablement role David was responsible for transforming EY country and global service delivery, integrating R2R specialty practices, developing a global talent hub capability and the GCR L&D program across Asia Pacific. David was the architect of the EY APAC GCR Centre of Excellence Team established in Manila and led many of the firm’s finance and tax function outsource engagements.David returned to Melbourne and from 1 July 2020 and retired from EY on 30 June 2022. Since then David has worked with various organizations on matters including leadership roles, succession planning, business performance, business planning and financial reporting. On 1 July 2023 David also joined the Board of Directors of Community First Responders Australia. CFRA support the highest level of community based medical first response based on providing people with the confidence to recognize a medical emergency, communicate with emergency services and act to treat a patient until emergency services arrive to takeover.
