Aviation is in my blood - my great uncle was a barnstorming pilot from the early 1900s. My parents, grandfather, uncle are all pilots so it's no surprise I'm a fan too. My childhood was spent helping run the farm that's been part of the family since the 1700s. I followed in my father's footsteps in becoming a University of Illinois engineer and gained some great experience at Cessna Aircraft and Scaled Composites. The farm will always be home and the dream of working on aviation projects on the farm became a reality in 2001. Flying S began as a design consultancy in a "hangar home" that we built. It has flourished in a new 68,000 sq. foot facility opposite our home, with a team of designers, engineers, machinists and various technicians ready for almost any rapid prototype or manufacturing project you could dream. With ISO 9001 & AS9100 Certification, our team is able to fabricate anything from carbon fiber aircraft wings to intricate molds and machined parts. To ensure quality and efficiency we are equipped to complete an entire project from raw materials to painted product right here at the farm.
