  I have worked in the Quality Management Systems Department for Gestamp Tallent for about 5 years. My main focus is on the writing and updating of Standard Operation documents, and the training and documentation that goes along with this. I am responsible for the day to day interactions between shop floor supervisors and office staff, regarding issues with the on-line documentation and training schedules of shop floor staff. During the writing process, I look into the ergonomics of the operator’s work area, and how this can be altered to enable them to meet TAKT and PPH targets. As part of the automotive sector, Gestamp Tallent requires standardised working procedures for a variety of different tasks, and from a variety of different perspectives: load/unload sequences, health and safety, PPE, coating technology and auditing, to name but a few. In certain situations, my role can involve liaising with key customer accounts, where the alterations are a direct request for (or as a result of) changing specifications. Visual management is another key area of my role, and I am responsible for the majority of the boards and document stands that are to be found on the shop floor, e.g. Quality Visual Management, TPM, Training and Shift Performance boards. I also work closely with the Improvements Department looking at work patterns, and suggesting way to improve performance without affecting the quality of the product. This can include, moving cells to improve the ergonomics of the area, reduce manning, increase manning to cope with customer demand. All this is done with customer quality as our main priority as well as profitability
