  With a B.Sc. (Hons) in Occupational Health and Safety and following a career in mining, construction, telecommunications and social care, in 2005 I qualified as a solicitor, became one of the first people to become a Chartered Health and Safety Practitioner. I spent 12 years at leading healthcare solicitors Hempsons before moving in-house to the Christie NHS Foundation Trust, advising the board and senior managers on a range of commercial and regulatory matters. I also sat on the Trust's Caldicott Panel.Obtaining a LL.M. in Information Law and Practice, I have just completed and M.Sc. in Information Security Management. I am currently preparing to undertake a PhD. Working now as a Consultant Solicitor, I advise clients on a range of regulatory and healthcare regulatory law and specialise in contentious and non-contentious information law and practice, including cyber security, confidentiality, data protection, environmental information, freedom of information and PECR). I advise and represent clients being investigated by the CQC, ICO and police following data breaches and insider theft of confidential and personal data, as well as on data protection issues arising from employment and commercial disputes. I have represented clients at the First-tier Tribunal (Information Rights).I also advise on data protection issues in due diligence and commercial negotiation, on document drafting and data transfers.I have advised clients and liaised with the ICO, NCA, NCSC and police on their behalf and led/ participated in Cyber Security Incident Response Teams following cyber attacks. I provide board, senior management and DPO training and I write blogs and articles to provide clients and my LinkedIn network with legal updates, including on proposed changes to cyber security, data protection and product security law arising from the government's cyber and data strategies and its consultation on Data: A new direction.
