About David Spence
I am a physicist specialising in lasers and photonics. I do experiments and theory, and on a good day they agree with each other. All of my work has commercial applications, and I collaborate with several companies to transfer new lasers and laser applications into the real world. I am a passionate teacher, and have taught the full range of undergraduate, masters, and postgraduate courses. I have trained seven PhD students, and many more as associate supervisor.
