Shuttle Pad Operations Processing Chief: 2000–2002• Responsible for all technical launch complex operations in coordination with Engineering, Planning, Safety, Schedule Management, Support Organizations, Quality, and NASA to ensure launch pad readiness to receive flight hardware and all systems prepared for servicing and launch activities.• Ensure all policies, documents, and safety requirements are comprehended, adhered to, coordinated, and executed for all Pad processing activities.

Orbiter Test Conductor: 2000• Direct all Shuttle control room operations at multiple facilities simultaneously to ensure Orbiter and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) operations are executed in a safe and integrated manner for efficient use of resources.Lead Orbiter Maneuvering/Reaction Control (OMS/RCS) Engineer: 1990-2000• Responsible for all OMS/RCS Pad-B engineering tasks including: overseeing all engineering personnel activities by assigning tasks appropriate to individual abilities, preparing ground support equipment (GSE), and servicing the Orbiter hypergolic system. • Engineering shift leader for six man hypergolic propellant loading team, integrating hazardous hypergolic operations into Pad schedule, planning/implementing system enhancements/modifications, and ensuring the OMS/RCS system prepared for flight.OMS/RCS System Engineer (LC-39A/B): 1987–2000• Prime Launch Team Member accountable for system during Launch Countdown. Expected to recognize and understand anomalies which occur and provide “Go/No Go” recommendation to Launch Management Team.• Pad OMS/RCS Vehicle Level 1 (highest possible) certified engineer, which authorizes control of all systems, Ground and Vehicle console tasks.• Responsible for maintaining Pad OMS/RCS Automated software requirements and performing related validations.• Developed Pad Hypergolic training course to certify technicians and quality personnel supporting propellant servicing operations at Launch Complex.

Lockheed-Martin and United Space Alliance: 1987 – PresentSenior Manager – Launch Complex/Mobile Launcher Operations: •Manage 200 managers, engineers and technicians who provide technical expertise to ensure Launch Pad ground systems remain in serviceable condition, process and service flight hardware, and prepare Launch Site, MLP (Mobile Launcher Platform) and Launch Vehicle for flight.•Direct allocation of $25 million annual budget in support of Pad/MLP Operations activities•Facility and Operational Manager responsible for the two Shuttle Launch Pads and three Mobile Launcher Platforms (MLP), Orbiter/Ground Support Equipment (GSE) testing, maintenance, and launch preparedness activities.•Responsible for all Launch Pad managed activities including Cryogenic (Propulsion) Engineers who load the Shuttle’s External Tank with Liquid Oxygen and Hydrogen during Terminal Countdown. Safety and Risk Management•Chairman, Standing Accident Investigation Board. Led board consisting of experts in Shuttle engineering, safety, quality, processing and operations, test operations management, and human factors. Board chartered to investigate high profile accidents for NASA and United Space Alliance.•Proactively employ and manage risk based decision analysis.•Engineering expert for team assigned to originate, document, and implement Launch Pad Hypergolic Process Safety Management (PSM) and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) for OSHA compliance.•Facility Manager responsible for all safety related concerns pertaining to launch complex activities, Risk Assessments, mishap investigations, mishap mitigation implementation, and lessons learned communications. •Led Launch Complex implementation of Voluntary Protection Plan (VPP) and 5S Programs
