After leaving school, I didn't have a scooby about what I wanted to do! I went into boat building and maintainance for a short spell. i worked on building sites mixing concrete for brickies and laying massive concrete slabs. Then I worked for a shopfitting firm, polishing metal, welding, braizing, woodworking and fitting on sites up and down the country. Next I built campers. Did that for 4 years and decided to put myself through college and got my advanced craft (NVQ level 3) in carpentry and bench joinery and worked for Sir Anthony/Lord Bamford at Daylesford for a good spell. I've worked with many excellent builders, carpenters, joiners and other trades over the years and id like to think their abilities and passion for building and joinery rubbed off! I'm told I'm 'pretty good' 😃 In any case I let my work speak for itself and I seem to get enough recommendations for some high end projects. I ran a small/medium sized workshop for 15 years, employing 4/5 people at a time making and fitting bespoke doors, including barn doors in oak, sapele, cedar, redwood etc. windows, staircases, kitchens, shelf units of every size, garden furniture, ornate gates, planters... the list goes on! i also trained a number of others to be carpenters and joiners, some of whom now have successful businesses of their own! That's very satisfying! My motto is 'Find a way'!
