My Ph.D. is in theology and ethics or theological ethics, with a special interest in faith and political culture. While working on my dissertation, I accepted and was ordained (in the Presbyterian Church USA) for the position at Wilson College which has been a great place to experiment with teaching religion as part of the Humanities faculty. Within the first couple of years of joining Wilson, I was contacted by Political Theology (PT) about serving as Review Editor. A few years later I became a co-editor and then a few years later I helped the late Tim Simpson launch the journal's experiment with blogging, Political Theology Today (originally called There is Power in the Blog and now located at the Political Theology Network). My work makes for rich and varied days for which I'm grateful, especially for those students and colleagues I work with on a regular basis and those I come to know through my work.

Associate Professor Of ReligionWilson College Aug 2010 - May 2022Chambersburg, PennsylvaniaWhat makes Wilson special (for me) is the conversational nature of my courses and the College's common life. My courses are for the most part structured as seminars of between 10-15 students -- most of whom are invested in our work together. Across my courses, I invite students to join me in the quest to understand religion and its interaction with other aspects of culture, especially morality and politics. -
