K-5 Physical Education Teacher, Dape Teacher, And 504 Case Manager
CurrentI have worked my way to my current positions. I always like a challenge and have accepted numerous positions through out my tenure. I started off as a paraprofessional and worked my way up to behavior tech. As a behavior tech I help students who are being difficult in the classroom. I can use my teaching experience to work with them 1:1, or just talk and find out how their day is going, or if issues are happing in a social setting. While working as a behavior tech, I was able to use my DAPE minor to help students work 1:1 on physical education skills. In addition to doing that I also was asked if I would help manage 504 students. I check in on students grades, and with teachers on how students are performing in class. We come up with ideas to help the students succeed if situations arise. I am in contact with parents and give them updates. I also substitute taught if the school could not find any. You could say I was the jack of all trades and filled many needs. This past year I accepted the K-5 physical education job. I still continue to do DAPE work with specific students and continue working as a 504 case manager. I am no longer working as a behavior tech.
