From 1995-1997, as consultant then full time employee, contributed to a growing startup team focused on the development and commercialization of a tissue sealant based on novel photo-initiated biopolymer technology.Conducted veterinary surgical procedures to evaluate safety, efficacy and biocompatibility of sealant material in vascular surgical applications.Developed and performed mechanical tests of sealant for tensile, peel and burst strength properties including template and fixture design for specialized testing.Interfaced with team members and surgical consultants in the development of performance specifications and delivery systems.Supervised activities of two contract technicians.Served as laboratory representative to Safety Committee to maintain expanding R&D lab in compliance with company safety guidelines.
