As Fulfilment Services Manager, I'm tasked with building and managing this exciting opportunity providing direct fulfilment services for our many clients, artists, labels, platforms & retailers. This involves working closely with all parties to help develop, deploy and manage all of the new and varied processes and systems required to successfully integrate this continually evolving project into our existing business practices and software sytems.Our mission is to be totally platform agnostic and we can now accept and manage orders from any webstore. We have successfully been processing and managing thousands of orders per month from the original proof of concept right through to us now being a fully fledged and operational dept. Huge steps have ben made to further expand and improve the dept with our direct integrations with Bandcamp (API), Music Glue & Ochre (Direct), and more recently our dedicated and officially approved Shopify App.We are rapidly expanding our fulfilment services offering to all clients as we look to scale up and roll the service out across all our suppliers, labels and artists.

My role involved researching and project managing the entire development, build process and launch of a brand new, fully integrated e-commerce store (www.propermusic.com) providing D2C sales revenue for the Proper Music Group. Managing the project from scratch included contract negotiations, controlling the budget, researching and selecting a web development company, hosting solutions, PCI Compliance, SSL Certification, payment gateway & merchant bank services, back end office and stock control integration, Royal Mail contracts and API integration, Courier & Phone contracts, SMS alerts, Address Validation, GEO Location, Site testing, and all stationary supplies.I also managed the concept, design, functionality, customer journey and check out process of the store in collaboration with our IT team and third party web developers (IWS).Once the site was launched I then managed the store with a small team, which included managing all budgets, ongoing website development (front end, CMS, OMS & back office, API's), merchandising, marketing, brand development, banners & graphics, traffic growth, promotion, sales, social media, customer service, systems integration, PCI compliance, process flows, contracts, e-mail marketing an newsletters, setting up stationary supplies, stock control and purchasing.

At a time when digital downloads and streaming were becoming a major format and income stream for artist, labels and suppliers, Proper Music Group needed to create and set up a new dept. for this side of the business.I was tasked with doing all of the research and project managing the process to create the new digital distributuion dept for Proper Music Distribution, which included the entire implementation of all digital distribution processes and systems and accounting. I procurred, set up and agreed deals and contracts with many digital aggregator and retail partners. I then managed this new dept which involved contacting and agreeing deals with labels and artists, developing excellent business relationships with the major DSP's at the time: iTunes, Amazon, 7-Digital, Spotify, Deezer, HMV, Play, Napster, e-Music, Nokia and more.... I wrote up all instructional and document guidelines for internal staff and all third parties, held meetings and explained the benefits of digital distribution to our labels, artists and staff in a specialist music market which at the time was very reluctant to embrace this new technology. One of the most challenging aspects of the role was working with our IT dept to build an accounts reporting process so we could record the many thousands of streams and downloads on amonthly basis so all clients would receive detailed statements and could be invoiced correctly and accurately.Having successfully built, launched and overseen the digital dept over 4 years, management was eventually handed over to our new digital team.

I was also responsible for the implimentation, installation, management and staff training of bespoke sales and CRM software.

My role as sales manager was to build our customer base, set up new accounts and increase sales whch helped build the company to sales of £900k pa. I also helped the compaany to expand into a new area of direct supply of media products for insurance companies.
