I have always had a strong passion for working in restaurants, which has lead me to working in the industry for over a decade. Although I truly enjoy working in hospitality, I have been seeing how rapidly technology is developing which has lead me to be more and more interested in computers/networks and how they work. With this rapid increase in technology, many companies have been susceptible to cyber crime. Wanting to learn how help people be able to protect themselves from these malicious characters has lead me to wanting to purse a career in Cybersecurity. To start this career path, I have been attending University of Nevada, Las Vegas at their Cybersecurity bootcamp. I have learned many things about Cybersecurity like networks, ethical hacking, social engineering, digital forensics, and incident response in a classroom setting. With this bootcamp, I have also been able to apply what I learned in class to real world scenarios and practice hands on tech skills in the TDX arena. This has lead me to continue wanting to learn more about the Cybersecurity field.Although, I am still fairly new in the Cybersecurity field, the skills I have learned in hospitality make an easier transition to this new career. These skills include: being able to anticipate customers/clients wants and needs, strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, and being able to work well with others as a team.
