Coordinated online marketing services for all clients, managed eBay business and created new client offerings in conjunction with other staff. Advised senior management on trends and opportunities in publishing and internet business.

LPC Group was a distributor of independent publishers in the USA, representing over 100 publishers to the book trade. Responsible for all aspects of administration, supervision of sales and marketing, finance, publisher relations, new account development, mergers and acquisitions. Developed innovative expert information systems, installed modern WMS, created an innovative online Print on Demand facility and e-book publishing and distribution systems for client publishers.

Inland Book Company was the only commercial wholesaler in the US that specialized in books, magazines, and calendars published by independent and progressive publishers; created InBook as a division in 1990, providing distribution services to select group of publishers, primarily women’s, literary, and progressive publishers. Established innovative marketing programs with specialty retailers, distributed CDs to bookstores, and established new markets for hundreds of publishers. Inland was sold to Koen Book Distributors in 1995; the InBook division was sold to Login Publishers Consortium to create LPC Group in 1996.

Managed staff, worked closely with National Council on the Arts, Congress and the Executive Branch on budgeting and intergovernmental relations, congressional oversight, and fulfillment of program goals. Administered grants programs to individuals and organizations, and improved outreach to literary constituencies nationwide.Established new program to recognize and support “senior” writers, increased direct funding to writers and built program relationships with other agencies. Increased budgeted funds given directly to writers and independent presses in every fiscal year.
