• Manage community science programs that teach about or improve local ecology, science literacy, and environmental stewardship in Rochester, NY.• Supervise a team of up to 9 part time employees and 16 employed high school students.• Manage the Urban Ecologist Program that introduces youth to careers in environmental science while empowering them to be ambassadors for the environment in their own neighborhoods.• Manage the Rochester chapter of the Urban Wildlife Information Network using 30 wildlife cameras deployed in urban areas to conduct research to enhance our knowledge of urban wildlife and their relationships with people.• Manage the Butterfly Beltway Project that engages volunteers to create upwards of 25 pollinator habitats annually while educating the public on pollinator conservation. • Create metrics and develop systems to track progress of environmental successes and volunteer recruitment and retention. • Serve as board member for H20 Heroes program, contributing to the strategic direction of the campaign to raise awareness of water quality issues locally. • Regularly represents the zoo as a public speaker for media events, donor engagements, public events, conferences, workshops, and community meetings.• Brief upper management and political leadership on environmental remediation projects and progress.• Help to shape the strategic visioning of community engagement programs in alignment with community needs.• Serve as zoo liaison to coordinate and maintain relationships with federal, state, county, city, academic, and community partners to advance conservation programs.• Give presentations to existing and perspective donors. • Contribute to grant proposals and reports for federal and state grants.• Administer grant programming such as the EPA Trash Free Waters Grant.
