I am an experienced Police Detective Sergeant with experience of supervising and investigating serious and complex crime.I have been a Police Officer since 2006 and I have been leading the Cheshire Police Cyber Crime Team since 2019. During this time I have led the team from the front and I have driven our team to become highly specialist and high performing. Within my current role I have both investigated and supervised investigations that have led to the convictions of a number of cyber-criminalsA significant part of our work involves educating organisations, community groups and individuals on the risks posed by cyber-criminality. I have built professional relationships and worked with partners to facilitate the delivery of this messaging.I regularly communicate with all levels of management as the subject matter expert and cyber lead within our organisation. As such it is my responsibility to have in-depth knowledge of all areas of our business which includes everything from general cyber investigations, open source internet (OSINT) research, crypto-currency, digital forensics, telecoms, hacking methodology and everything in-between (we cover a lot of ground!!)Furthermore I am responsible and accountable for the Cyber Crime Team's performance and I therefore have detailed knowledge of the data and metrics that inform this.I am passionate about Cyber and Digital and I am constantly seeking to develop new processes and methods to improve our response to incidents of cyber-crime. I pride myself in providing my team and I with a positive work environment and the time, space and training to develop in our roles in order to provide a a better response to cyber-crime in Cheshire and therefore deliver a better service to the community. My work is also my hobby and I have a particular personal interest in ethical hacking and pen-testing which is an area I am learning more about and wish to develop further.
