My experience is very wide, and hard to summarize in one small section, but here goes:I earned the rank of Eagle Scout in May 1990. I completed my Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification in December 1998. I started my own Engineering firm in 1999 with a partner. I was married in 2000. I have been an Executive Director/National Training Director with Excel Telecommunications out of Dallas, TX, where I had a team of over 550 independent agents. I have been a Senior Branch Manager with United First Financial out of Salt Lake City, UT, where I had a team of over 200 independent agents. I acquired a Computer Integration company in Winchester, VA in July 2003. I bought out and absorbed one of our local competitors in May 2006. I started an Internet Service Provider (ISP) in June 2008. I own multiple rental/investment properties, currently at 38 door for rental units, encompassing both residential and commercial. I also have multiple vacant land parcels under ownerhsip, and my own personal residence. I operate several short term vacation rental properties in Ocean City MD, Lyncburg VA, and Kissimmee/Davenport FL. I operate a seasonal commercial/residential snow removal business during the winter months, which allows our field staff to have work during inclement winter weather periods. I have a wonderful wife of 21 years at the time of this writing, and four sons, 29, 19, 17 and 15 yrs old (as of Dec. 8, 2021). My oldest is married and living in PA with one child. He is a graduate of my alma mater, Liberty University, with a bachelor's degree in commercial aviation, and earned his private pilot's license at the age of 17. My 19 year old is getting ready to start as an incoming freshman at Liberty University in January 2022, majoring in Business Administration. My 17 year old turns 18 this coming March, and graduates high school this coming May. My youngest is currently a sophomore and starts Liberty University dual enrollment Fall 2022. I have developed a tremendous network of contacts across the entire nation over the past twenty-five years and feel blessed to have learned so much from many of them. During my time in this position I mentored and managed a team of approximately 600 independent agents that were in my organization. I traveled around the country, working with members of my team in other geographic areas. Our team launched a multi-state marketing campaign and call center as part of our sales initiative. I was trained by our corporate office as a National Training Director. In this role I shared a larger responsibility to train independent agents from all across the country in policy guidelines, acceptable use policies and leadership/mentoring of their own respective teams.
During my time with Connected Resources my position and responsibilities evolved. Initially I was hired on as a field network support technician. My responsibilities were in the repair and maintenance of corporate workstations and printers for companies such as Sylvan Learning Center, Black & Decker, Provident Bank and other large organizations we had under contract. I also worked under the mentorship of senior network engineers with our company. I was then given the opportunity to work through the entire Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification program. Once I earned my MCSE I was promoted to the position of field engineer and began working on server maintenance and active directory deployments. At one point I was traveling around the country three out of four weeks just about every month, setting up new networking systems for Sylvan Learning Center. I was later moved into the position of Level two help desk manager with Integrated Health Services (IHS) in Hunt Valley, MD. IHS had a contract with our company for help desk management positions. I managed multiple internal projects for IHS while in this role, as well as the level two help desk for their internal staff technical support.
