David Cappellina, a Managing Director with the LitCon Group, has over 30 years of experience in providing anti-corruption, investigative, risk management and dispute consulting services to corporate clients and government agencies. Dave has significant experience leading high-profile global anti-bribery and corruption investigations and proactive compliance projects, including matters involving the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”), for counsel to multinational corporations. He has presented analyses and findings on behalf of his clients to the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.Dave has also led U.S. and international investigations involving mortgage and procurement fraud, embezzlement, misrepresentations of financial information, political corruption and other financial improprieties. He has communicated findings of complex accounting, internal controls and financial matters to senior partners in major law firms, boards of directors, audit committees and C-Level executives. His work has assisted clients in the successful resolution of criminal and civil matters and in the enhancement of their compliance programs.Additionally, Dave has supported U.S. law enforcement and regulatory agencies on matters related to alleged fraud, waste and misconduct, including the misappropriation of public funds. Many of these engagements resulted in the criminal prosecution of public and private U.S. citizens.Dave is a Certified Public Accountant in Washington, DC and Maryland and former financial statement auditor. He has made numerous presentations on the topics of fraud investigations, the FCPA and forensic accounting. His audiences have included the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation, Institute of Internal Auditors, and Legal, Compliance, Finance, Operations and Internal Audit Departments of Fortune 100 companies.
