Fcl Transport Coordinator
Employed initially in the warehouse to setup a new warehousing location system for all inbound and outbound freight, then moving into the Import Air Freight section processing the collection, sorting and dispatching of all air and sea cargo. After 6 months moved to the transport department to control the delivery and devanning of sea-freight containers to devanning stations and clients, working closely with internal staff, clients and wharf staff.Duties included communicating with NZ Customs, MAF, Wharf, trucking company and clients to arrange release and delivery of containers. This was done either by computer or telephone. Dealing with various people assuring that deadlines were met and all parties were happy. Problem solving on a weekly or daily basis. Working with clients to help improve and ensure a positive professional relationship.Highlights include working as a team to insure deadlines are kept and a satisfying end result, giving excellent customer service. Learning everyday on the job, which provided a better understanding of what is required from all parties involved, in the day to day operations.

Employed in a sole management role for Airport City Couriers, I was responsible for the day to day running of this small but very busy airport courier company.Duties included planning and organizing the dispatch of drivers and/or trucks.Ensuring freight was ready to be collected from freight forwarders and other customs bonded areas.Other duties included, arranging collection and delivery of duty free products to the correct airside locations.General office duties included client contact, costing and calling on existing and prospective clients.Highlights included being able to get out and help the team when things got busy. This helped me experience exactly what the drivers were dealing with on a day-to-day basis. This also gave me knowledge of client’s locations so I could assist with future delivery issues. Working on the airport, I acquired knowledge of how the restricted security areas work. Working on the airport definitely was a highlight of my early career.I thoroughly enjoyed working at the airport, I believe the team environment and the experience I gained was the highlight of my early career.
