Through many years of voluntary work with 4 and Rotary Promotions Limited, I have been directly responsible in helping craft the company to become the biggest lifestyle and automotive event provider in New Zealand through conceptualising and providing all promotional, marketing and advertising collateral. Additional duties through this work included running promotional activities at the events, managing team members and controlling all 4 and Rotary Promotions media through radio, television, print and other freelance mediums.

Self employed and working in all aspects of marketing and advertising for a small client base throughout New ZealandDuties include graphic design of print media, brand management and awareness, marketing, building and maintaining corporate internet sites, national and regional event promotion planning, and social media marketing and development. In this role I am required to produce all written and graphical content from design briefs and client consultations.Highlights include being able to sit down with clients and assist them with the knowledge that I have, to help grow their business. Being able to take pride in a finished project before the deadline required, and to see a project through from start to finish.

Employed as a marketing and advertising assistant working in all aspects of marketing and advertising for the national Franchise Group.Duties included planning and design of print media, radio media, copywriting for national and international magazines and internet sites, photography, managing corporate internet sites, promotion planning and national and regional promotion planning.I was required to produce all written and graphical content for the Group nationwide.Highlights included planning, developing and running the customer loyalty programme, and the ongoing planning, construction and design of the associated VIP magazine (LOWDOWN), which had a readership of 10,000 people nationwide. I was responsible for a nationwide POS software system upgrade, which involved researching and implementing the software, and then training staff on best use practices. Additionally, I was also responsible for the companies new phone system and its internal computer network and associated web and email servers through researching, implementing and maintaining both systems.

Employed initially in the warehouse to setup a new warehousing location system for all inbound and outbound freight, then moving into the Import Air Freight section processing the collection, sorting and dispatching of all air and sea cargo. After 6 months moved to the transport department to control the delivery and devanning of sea-freight containers to devanning stations and clients, working closely with internal staff, clients and wharf staff.Duties included communicating with NZ Customs, MAF, Wharf, trucking company and clients to arrange release and delivery of containers. This was done either by computer or telephone. Dealing with various people assuring that deadlines were met and all parties were happy. Problem solving on a weekly or daily basis. Working with clients to help improve and ensure a positive professional relationship.Highlights include working as a team to insure deadlines are kept and a satisfying end result, giving excellent customer service. Learning everyday on the job, which provided a better understanding of what is required from all parties involved, in the day to day operations.

Employed in a sole management role for Airport City Couriers, I was responsible for the day to day running of this small but very busy airport courier company.Duties included planning and organizing the dispatch of drivers and/or trucks.Ensuring freight was ready to be collected from freight forwarders and other customs bonded areas.Other duties included, arranging collection and delivery of duty free products to the correct airside locations.General office duties included client contact, costing and calling on existing and prospective clients.Highlights included being able to get out and help the team when things got busy. This helped me experience exactly what the drivers were dealing with on a day-to-day basis. This also gave me knowledge of client’s locations so I could assist with future delivery issues. Working on the airport, I acquired knowledge of how the restricted security areas work. Working on the airport definitely was a highlight of my early career.I thoroughly enjoyed working at the airport, I believe the team environment and the experience I gained was the highlight of my early career.
