I am an agile and versatile copywriter, copyeditor, creative director, and project manager with over fifteen years in the publishing and marketing industries.My most recent position was the Senior Copywriter at UCLA’s school of continuing education, UCLA Extension. This was a deeply collaborative role, where I oversaw a junior writer and four work-study students, and worked closely with an agile team of designers, project managers, creative director, marketing managers, strat-com director, and dean of the Marketing Department. Working with project managers, we A/B tested emails until we got our messaging dialed in just right. We segmented our audiences to better tailor to existing students, prospective students, alumni, and general list, making our click-through rate and conversions improve dramatically.I have extensive experience writing copy for display, organic and paid social, emails, events, video scripts and voiceover, and OOH billboards and bus tails. (All can be found in my portfolio.) I’ll never forget pulling up behind a city bus and looking up to see my words in three-foot letters in front of me. I took charge of the school’s style guide and brand guidelines, improving the fluidity and voice of the institution and adapting it to a younger audience. I also helped run our First Friday activations, where we created materials and set up tables on the main street of UCLA to connect with existing and prospective students.In addition to this wealth of experience, I have been a working copywriter for the last seven years, mostly freelance but at many points in-house or with an agency. I also did creative direction for a medical industry client, Protective Health Gear, doing full-service marketing for their N95 masks during the height of the pandemic.
