Officite (www.officite.com) was a vision built off the foundation of my previous marketing company (Code Red) which we tagged "Code Red going Web". My partner, co-founder Kevin Duffy, and I crystalized the vision one evening over a dinner meeting. The concept was some what simple - speculatively build robust web and traditional marketing tools and services for the small medical practice, amortizing the costs over a large client base, then making it inexpensive to acquire and instant to implement and easy to manage. Though leading technology and creative services, an Officite client becomes a "marketing organization" within 24 hours and then Officite with its technology and marketing services differentiates their practice and drives new patients to the physician increasing revenue. Officite services multiple health care disciplines and services and hosts over 7,000 medical practices.In November 2012, Officite was acquired by Internet Brands / KKR.

In 2004, Focus Equity Partners acquired C&M Pharmacy, a specialty pharmacy serving HIV/AIDS and mental health patients in the Chicago marketplace. I represented Focus Equity on the Board of Directors as well as managed the Company’s financial operations as its CFO. After 22 months, in June of 2006, Focus successfully sold C&M to Walgreens Corporation.

Code Red designed and implemented speculative and templated turnkey direct mail marketing campaigns and sold them to service companies that did not compete against each other geographically. The business was sold to Boise Cascade in 2001 and then acquired back in 2004.

In 1995, I left Environetx and founded my first company - Workspace (now www.workspaceinteriorsod.com/) also an office furniture distributor located in Oak Brook, Illinois. I managed the day-to-day operations as its President & CEO. I built a very strong group of world-class associates and developed philosophies and strategies which were instrumental in the successful development of Workspace, and the eventual sale to Boise Cascade Office Products, then OfficeMax now Office Depot. As a start-up company in a very mature industry, Workspace was required to quickly establish a brand for itself in the marketplace. Using a variety of “home grown” marketing programs, Workspace developed a reputation as a dynamic marketing organization. In May of 2001, Workspace was acquired by Boise Cascade Office Products (now Office Depot). Its strategic intent for acquiring Workspace was to use it as a template and model for expanding its core office products business nationally into the contract furniture industry. I stayed with the company in Chicago as its President for 18 months managing the transition and integration of operations into the new parent company while at the same time developing and implementing its national expansion strategy for this division inclusive of start-ups, conversions and multiple acquisitions.Workspace Interiors by Office Depot currently has locations in all the major marketplaces across the United States.

The firm was a large national contract furnishing distributor.The company was formally known as International Business Interiors (IBI) with locations in the Chicago, Boston and Philadelphia marketplaces.I started in sales and then held various management positions as Director of Quality, Director of Operations and Vice President of Sales & Marketing.
